Moroni – 31 March - Comoros Meridian Project Ends Successfully
On 31 March 2026, Comoros signed off on its new Commonwealth Meridian database, which will be used for all debt management, monitoring and reporting functions by the National Debt Directorate. This brings to an end phase 1 of the Comoros Meridian project, funded by the African Development Bank. The project has lasted 12 months, including providing training for more than 20 officials from different branches of government, who then built their own database in Meridian for all Comoros’ external debt. A final mission will assist Comoros in setting up physical and online servers on which to store its database securely, and provide more support to government in tailoring reports to serve its needs. In a second phase, Meridian will extend to cover domestic debt, and be linked to the Comoros IFMIS.
