On 5 March Matthew Martin made a keynote presentation to a EURODAD Debt Strategy workshop on why we need to revive the campaign for debt cancellation for developing countries across Europe.  He emphasised the scale of the current global debt crisis, the impact it is having on people’s lives across the world by exacerbating the triple crisis of inequality, climate and nature depletion, and what needs to be done about it – a debt service reduction programme on the scale of the former HIPC Initiative. The workshop drafted a strategy for reviving a pan-European campaign over the next few years.
